Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. You do not need a referral to see us or to claim for private health insurance.

If you have consulted your GP regarding your condition and you have a referral, please remember to bring it with you. We will keep in touch with your doctor regarding your treatment and ongoing care.

For WorkCover, Third Party, Medicare EPC or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) claims a doctors referral is required.

How long are the appointments?

Initial appointments are the same length as follow-up appointments. Our appointments are 30 minutes as we find this is generally the most appropriate length of time. For more complex conditions or multiple injuries longer appointments can be booked.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Any X-Rays, scans or other reports and/or medical notes from specialists are very helpful. If you don’t have anything just bring yourself!

Can the physiotherapist refer me for X-Rays?

Yes, our physiotherapists at Back to Health can refer you for X-Rays, ultrasounds and even MRI’s without the need to see your GP.

Will you remind me that I have an appointment?

Yes. We will ask you for your mobile and email address at your initial appointment so that we can send you a reminder about your appointment.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing clothing suitable for your assessment, for example a singlet for shoulder or neck problems and shorts for leg/lower limb or pelvic injuries. We also have gowns and shorts available if you need.

Where can I find you? Is there parking?

Newport Clinic: Shop 3/337 Barrenjoey Rd, Newport

There is plenty of street parking behind the clinic in the streets around Foamcrest Avenue as well as a public car park.

Please remember to allow enough time to find a parking space before your appointment.

Can I catch public transport to the clinic?

Our Newport Clinic has the main bus stop right outside, and is an easy walking distance from the main shops.
