Falls Prevention Home Exercises

Research has shown that no matter your age, exercise is always worth the effort in keeping you fit and independent. The NSW Falls Prevention Program has a few simple exercises to help prevent falls and fall- related injuries for older persons at home.

  1. Heel-to-toe standing/ walking
  2. Knees raises
  3. Side leg raise/ sideways walking
  4. Heel raise
  5. Stepping up a step
  6. Sit to stand

Demonstrations of these exercises can be found on their website on the link below. It can be hard to maintain these exercises over time, however forming these good habits will aid in preventing potential and common fall injuries in the future.
